Stage setup.
The first shavees.
This is Amy. She didn't know she was going to get shaved until that evening. She raised $500 at the event.
Our turn.
It was at about this point that I started noting how drafty the room was.
The boy next to me is the grandson of the lady who runs the daycare where I sometimes drop Seren and Porter.
What a champ!
Halfway done is well begun.
Watching from the sidelines, not sure what to think.
Almost done!
By this point, I was actually physically shivering.
No Kojack jokes, please.
Finishing touches.
Seren, absolutely mortified by seeing my head shaved, was comforted by some matronly onlookers. Porter, on the other hand...
And done! (In case you're wondering, I'm laughing like that because I just caught my first glimpse in a mirror.)
The official "after" shot.
Another noteworthy shavee.
All ponytailed for donation to Locks of Love.
And they just keep going...
And going...
Until all that was left was a pale man with a mustache.
It's worth noting that there were 34 shavees and more than $18,000 were raised. Several thousand dollars were raised that night by cash contributions--people were literally auctioning off their hair! It was a lot of fun and we'd happily do it again.
